Children should never feel like they're unwanted. A parent is supposed to be there for their children and love them unconditionally.
Some parents are resentful towards their children, because they had to give up a lot to raise them; taking the hatred they have for the absent parent out on the children. Drugs abuse; being a teen parent and the above are all contributing factors in why some parents neglect their children. Sometimes, the parents just don’t know how to be parents, due to their own upbringing. They do what they know best and follow suit on a vicious cycle of neglect.
These are all forms of abuse, and it’s not fair for the children to suffer the consequences of others. They didn’t ask to be here! Sometimes, they just don’t want children and do nothing to prevent unwanted pregnancies. That’s another reason why there are so many foster kids awaiting for homes today.
Children growing up in this kind of environment tend to grow up with low self-esteem, have trust issues, have jealous tendencies; They’re envious towards others who seem happy, tend to act out in school for attention and can also grow up to be mental and physical abusers.
If you are not ready for children, take the necessary precaution not to have them. If you do want children, please be mindful of who you choose as the other parent – Think about the gene pool.
