Say it isn’t so…we’ve come so far, yet the struggle remains?

When, people like former President Jimmy Carter speaks about racism towards, President Barack Obama, doesn’t that mean something? Former Pres. Jimmy Carter is a wise man and man of great integrity. When he utters the word racism, shouldn’t a red flag go up somewhere? Shouldn’t it be looked into, thought about at least to see if there is actually some truth to it? Is this true?

How can the world progress, if the world continues to digress? This world is a great big melting pot, spiced with all races. Why do some want more than one pot, one for each race? Why should there be racism in a country called, The United Stated? United being the opportune word; UNITY, doesn’t that mean unity amongst all people, regardless of race, color and creed? Why does it take a tragedy to pull people together? I want those who were taught to be racists, to realize that this is not hereditary, nor is it like the common cold, it’s taught, just like teaching you how to say your ABC’s and spell your name. Just like the media, if they want you to believe something or conform to something you will then hear it repeatedly; it’s a form of brain washing. Say it enough and they will believe it.

Back when there were no laws against racism, people were blatantly disrespectful to people of color. Now that there are laws against racism, racism is still in our faces today, like where’s Waldo, it’s there, but its like, can you really see me? Not only can you see it, racism is felt. It can also put a nasty taste in your mouth. But…. should people still grin and bear it? Racism, will it ever die?
